Registered Nurse (RN), Day Shift, Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) 3 South

UC Health is hiring a full-time RN for LTAC 3 South, for the day shift at Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care.

The RN will support Daniel Drake’s 3 South department, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care, and according to policy and procedures.

Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care is the region's premier provider of post-acute and transitional care services, offering a complete range of inpatient and outpatient services including medically complex care, skilled nursing, assisted living, wellness services, and research. Daniel Drake Center helps patients recover from catastrophic injury and illness including multi-system organ failure, complex wound care, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury.

Daniel Drake is the only hospital-based skilled nursing facility in the Cincinnati region. Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing

• Associate’s Degree, minimum required

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred

• Current OH RN License

Shift: 12-hour AM / Day Shift

Job Responsibilities

The RN is an individual who holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. The care is culturally based and age-specific.

• Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises, and coordinates interdisciplinary plans of care for each assigned patient in collaboration with other healthcare team members and the patient/family within the standards of practice.

• Communicates formulated plans of care, as appropriate, to all levels of associates involved in the patient's care, and demonstrates the ability to establish priorities based on the patient's assessment and needs.

• Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment, involving family/guardians in assessment, initial treatment, and ongoing care.

• Identifies and responds appropriately to different patient needs resulting from behavioral health issues, psychological needs, or cultural/religious norms.

• Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude to meet the needs of the unit.

• Accurately documents nursing processes, including evaluation of treatment, in accordance with hospital policy and procedures.

• Acts as a resource and mentor for new personnel, floaters, and/or supplemental staff on the unit.

• Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and contributes to the professional growth of peers and colleagues.
