Registered Nurse (RN) - Long-Term Care (Multiple Openings)

Kelly Government Solutions is seeking Registered Nurses (RN) for Long-Term Care support at the Finger Lakes (NY) Veterans Affairs Healthcare System. These are contract roles based at Canandaigua and Bath VA Medical Centers, involving on-site work.

Work Schedule

40 hours/week, evenings and nights available, with 8- or 12-hour shifts (if 12-hour shifts are chosen, an 8-hour shift must be worked every 2 weeks).

Key Responsibilities

1. Provide skilled nursing care to long-term care patients with chronic illnesses or disabilities unable to care for themselves.
2. Ensure patient-centered, individualized care to promote independence and quality of life, coordinated to meet patient needs over time.
3. Perform nursing procedures and deliver safe care to assigned patients.
4. Implement physician, provider, and nursing orders promptly and accurately.
5. Conduct initial assessments and follow-up on patient responses and treatment outcomes.
6. Coordinate and manage long-term care services as part of a multidisciplinary team.
7. Develop, implement, and revise care plans in collaboration with patients and families, including health education and discharge planning.
8. Evaluate and document patient responses to interventions and progress towards goals.
9. Recognize abnormal signs, symptoms, behaviors, or changes in patient conditions and respond appropriately.

Minimum Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (Master’s preferred) from an accredited program.
2. Active, unrestricted RN license in at least one U.S. state or territory.
3. Minimum of two years’ recent experience in long-term care, with preference for experience working with Veterans.
4. Current BLS and CPR certifications.
5. U.S. Citizenship and ability to pass a government background check.
