Registered Nurse (RN) Labor and Delivery

HighPoint - Sumner Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Labor and Delivery in Hendersonville, TN. This PRN rotating position offers an opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to exceptional maternal and newborn care.

About the Role: As an RN in our Labor and Delivery department, you will provide specialized care to expectant mothers and newborns, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being during labor, delivery, and postpartum care.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing comprehensive labor support, monitoring vital signs, assessing fetal well-being, and managing pain relief.
• Assisting with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections in a safe environment.
• Monitoring postpartum mothers and newborns, offering breastfeeding support, and addressing postpartum concerns.
• Educating families on childbirth, newborn care, breastfeeding, and recovery.
• Maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
• Responding to obstetric emergencies with critical thinking and protocol adherence.
• Advocating for patient needs and participating in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a current Tennessee or Multi-State RN license and possess an Associate's or Bachelor's degree or RN Diploma in Nursing. Additional requirements include BLS certification (current upon hire), ACLS certification (within 6 months if not current), and NRP certification (within 6 months).
