Job summary

Saint Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, part of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a part-time Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse. You will provide specialized care for minimally invasive, image-guided procedures, assess patients, support procedures, administer sedation, monitor, and educate patients throughout the care continuum.

Minimum qualifications include an accredited nursing program graduate, CT RN license, and BLS/CPR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Connecticut Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.
• BSN preferred.
• Interventional Radiology/ICU/CCU/ED/Cath Lab experience preferred.
• ACLS and PALS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures.
• Administer medications and conscious sedation per orders and protocols.
• Provide continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring during procedures.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, technologists, and healthcare team.
• Deliver pre- and post-procedure education to patients and families.

Working alongside radiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, RNs play a critical role in patient assessment, procedural support, conscious sedation administration, monitoring, recovery, and patient education throughout the continuum of care.

Employment Type: Part time Shift: Rotating Shift Description: At Saint Mary's Hospital, our Interventional Radiology Registered Nurses provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. Working alongside radiologists and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, RNs play a critical role in patient assessment, procedural support, conscious sedation administration, monitoring, recovery, and patient education throughout the continuum of care.

What You Will Do

• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions before, during, and after interventional radiology procedures.
• Administer medications and conscious sedation in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
• Provide continuous cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring during procedures.
• Collaborate closely with radiologists, physicians, technologists, and healthcare team members to ensure safe and effective patient care.
• Deliver pre-procedure education and post-procedure instructions to patients and families.

Minimum QualificationsRequired

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current BLS/CPR certification.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
• Previous Interventional Radiology experience.
• Three or more years of recent ICU, Critical Care, Emergency Department, or Cath Lab experience.
• Experience with conscious sedation and image-guided interventional procedures.
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).

Pay Range: $36.45- $59.95 per hour

Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
