As competencies are validated, the new graduate takes on progressively greater autonomy and patient complexity, moving steadily toward the full, independent practice of a staff registered nurse.Department Overview:The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is a 24-bed stepdown unit for patients with medical and surgical diagnoses. The predominant patient population includes but is not limited to acute CVAs, ventilator dependent patients-weaning and non-weaning, GI bleeds, chronic renal failure, newly diagnosed and chronic diabetes, general abdominal surgery, thoracic surgery and those diagnoses that require frequent monitoring.New Grad RNs are Welcome to Apply!This unit welcomes new graduate nurses and experienced nurses moving into this specialty.
