Ridgeview Institute Smyrna is seeking a Referral Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Access department. The RN will assess patient charts for admission, obtain physician orders, and review medication reconciliation under nursing standards.
Must work independently with strong clinical skills and provide care for diverse age groups. Qualified candidates have an accredited RN program background; Georgia RN license; and a CPR certification.
The Referral RN in the Access department is a registered nurse who assesses and evaluates patients' charts who are being considered for admission to the hospital, takes physician orders, and reviews medication reconciliation with the physician and/or Assessment RN following the nursing process and the standards of care and practices. Must have good clinical skills and be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
Education: Graduate from an accredited RN program; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric facility is preferred.
Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Georgia State Board of Nursing.
Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications. CPR certification and successful completion of Management of Aggressive Behavior including restraint and seclusion policies, within 30 days of employment, and prior to assisting in re-straining procedures. Must have a working knowledge of the DSM-V, Mental Status Exam, and the Addiction and Recovery field.
