Job summary

Jefferson Regional Specialty Hospital is seeking an RN Intake & Assessment Clinician for our Behavioral Health unit. This PRN position involves 7:00A-7:00P or 7:00P-7:00A shifts, joining a team dedicated to comprehensive behavioral health care and patient well-being.

Our 36-bed unit provides inpatient and outpatient services for adults and seniors, including crisis stabilization. You will perform assessments, document care, and contribute to care planning and quality improvement in a supportive

Qualifications

• Current state RN license.
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in behavioral health and intake/assessment is preferred.
• Experience with behavioral health populations including adults and seniors preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and identify care needs.
• Initiate and implement nursing interventions.
• Deliver age-appropriate care.
• Document medical necessity and nursing activities.
• Complete and revise interdisciplinary care plans.
• Conduct timely Quality Improvement assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work with adults and seniors experiencing mental illness and acute psychiatric crisis.

Our 36-bed behavioral health unit will offer a continuum of inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services for adults and senior citizens, including crisis stabilization for acute mental health and substance use disorders; detoxification from alcohol and drugs; and treatment for anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and many other behavioral health concerns.

How you'll contribute

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify individual care needs.
• Initiate and implement appropriate nursing interventions.
• Deliver care appropriate to the condition and age of each patient.
• Document medical necessity and nursing activities in a timely and accurate manner.
• Complete and revise Interdisciplinary Care Plans for assigned patients.
• Perform timely and accurate Quality Improvement (QI) assessments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Ability to work with children, adolescents, adults (18 and over) or geriatric patients experiencing mental illness and acute psychiatric crisis.

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Licenses: Must have a current state or compact state RN license.
• Education: Associate's degree required. BSN preferred.
• Previous Behavioral Health Experience Required
• Previous Intake & Assessment Experience Preferred
