Job summary

National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, AR seeks an Intake Registered Nurse to join our patient admission and assessment team. You will coordinate admissions, verify medical necessity, and support seamless transitions into care with your clinical judgment and communication skills.

Candidates must hold a current RN license and a BSN, with BLS required within 30 days and ACLS/PALS within six months; one year of experience preferred.

• Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Accurately performs patient admissions and assessments.
• Identifies patient needs and initiates nursing interventions.
• Coordinates admission process and verifies medical necessity.
• Maintains documentation of medical necessity and care plans.
• Completes and revises the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for patients.
• Performs timely QI assessments and related duties.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Join National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where you will play a vital role in the patient admission and assessment process as an Intake Registered Nurse (RN). Working closely with patients, families, providers, and interdisciplinary teams, you will be responsible for conducting clinical assessments, coordinating admissions, verifying medical necessity, facilitating appropriate level‑of‑care determinations, and ensuring a seamless transition into care. This position offers the opportunity to utilize your clinical expertise, critical thinking, and communication skills in a collaborative environment dedicated to delivering exceptional patient-centered care.

How you'll contribute

• Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
• Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
• Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient
• Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record
• Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Performs timely and accurate QI assessments
• Perform other duties as assigned

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a current state RN license and possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
