A Brief Overview

Operates in a collaborative role with nursing staff and medical staff as a clinician, educator and resource for patients with wound and skin care needs.

What You Will Do

  • Serves as the expert and consultant for all aspects of wound care.
  • Works with outpatient and inpatient nursing as a consultant for all patients with skin and wound care needs.
  • Participates in all projects related to wound and skin care.
  • Develops and reports financial and quality outcomes of care against national benchmarks.
  • Demonstrates creativity and flexibility in the development, implementation, and evaluation of care related to skin and wound.
  • Assures the accurate and timely completion of documentation and charges related to wound care services.
  • Maintains and shares an in-depth and up-to-date working knowledge of skin and wound products.
  • Actively participates in the marketing of wound care services to include patient satisfaction; establishing and maintaining positive relationships with medical staff, clinics, and long term care professionals.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire and
  • Wound Ostomy & Continence Nursing Certificate - Wound Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB) Upon Hire
  • 1-3 years Registered Nurse

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • 4-6 years Registered Nurse
