Job summary

Apex Home Health, Hospice & Home Care is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide evidence-based oncology care in inpatient units, working within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.

You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, manage symptoms, and educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment, self-care, and discharge instructions. The role may involve rotating shifts to meet patient needs.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN license in Massachusetts.
• ONS/ONCC chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification or within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in acute care, oncology, or infusion settings; EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, and manage symptoms for adult oncology patients.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, supportive therapies, and manage central venous access devices per protocols.
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment, self-care, and discharge instructions; coordinate care and referrals.
• Document in EMR accurately; participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives; support clinical research protocols.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team; serve as preceptor or charge nurse; support team communication and throughput.

• Ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records, participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives, and support clinical research protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members, serve as preceptor or charge nurse, and support team communication and patient throughput.

Qualifications & Skills

• Current unrestricted RN license in Massachusetts; ONS/ONCC chemotherapy/immunotherapy certification or within 6 months of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred; associate degree with a plan to complete BSN within 4 years.
• Experience in acute care, oncology, or infusion settings preferred; proficiency with EMR systems like Epic.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, patient education, infection prevention, and teamwork skills.

• May involve rotating shifts and extended hours to meet patient care needs.
