Job summary

Trinity Health MI Chelsea Hospital is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join the Infusion Clinic and support outpatient care, including chemotherapy administration, in a 14-chair infusion center.

The role requires collaborating with Hematology Oncology teams, performing nursing assessments, maintaining IV access, and delivering safe patient care in a fast-paced environment during day shifts (8am–4:30pm). It offers a comprehensive benefits package and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Current Michigan Nursing License.
• BSN degree or willingness to obtain BSN within five years.
• Chemotherapy experience highly preferred.
• Experience using EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments of patients' physical, psychosocial and cognitive status.
• Develops and documents individualized care plans with patient and family.
• Manages IV access devices (PICCs/Ports) and administers treatments.
• Administers prescribed medications per nursing techniques.
• Documents care per hospital standards and monitors patient responses.
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to deliver quality care.
• Supervises unlicensed assistive personnel as needed.

Position Purpose

This registered nurse works collaboratively with IHA Hematology Oncology Associates in 14-chair infusion center at the Chelsea hospital. Primary responsibilities include outpatient care follow-up and administration of chemotherapy, in addition to a variety of other types of Infusion services.

Responsibilities

• Performs nursing assessments of the patient's physical, psychosocial and cognitive status considering age and development level.
• Formulates and documents individualized plans of care developed with the patient, family and health care team members.
• Demonstrates excellent IV skills and the ability to manage/maintain Venous Access Devices, such as pic lines and ports.
• Implements patient care in a manner consistent with the age of the patient, the plan of care and the changing needs of the patient.
• Documents patient care according to Hospital and Department standards.
• Evaluates patient care needs, determines priorities and directs nursing care as required for the delivery of quality patient care.
• Supervises the care provided by unlicensed assistive personnel under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Able to problem solve and manage crisis, able to adapt quickly to a rapidly changing patient care environment.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques.
• Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
• Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient.

Part time, benefit eligible (48 hours per pay period - every two weeks)

No weekend or holiday requirements

Required Qualifications

• Requires current Michigan Nursing License
• Graduation from accredited nursing program
• Experience administering chemotherapy highly preferred
• Experience using EPIC preferred
• New hires must have a BSN degree or must agree in writing to obtain their BSN within five years
