Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Amarillo, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Infusion Chemotherapy Registered Nurse to join our oncology team. You will support patient care in the infusion center, monitor responses to chemotherapy, and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and support staff.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, graduation from an accredited School of Nursing, a current RN license, and BLS. ACLS certification is preferred; prior acute care experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 14 days of hire.
• ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer and monitor infusion chemotherapy care for oncology patients.
• Assess patient health status and respond to changes in condition.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists and care team to optimize treatment.
• Document care and ensure safety and infection control standards.

• BSA Harrington Cancer Center is a state-of-the-­art, 48,000-square-foot facility with two new linear accelerators for radiation treatments, 24 patient exam rooms, 28 heated chemotherapy infusion chairs and three private infusion rooms for families.

Responsibilities

The Oncology Registered Nurse is accountable for the health status and for health needs of patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN License.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Advanced Life Support Certification (ACLS).

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Previous acute care experience.
