Job summary

BSA Health System in Amarillo, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Infusion Chemotherapy Registered Nurse to join our oncology team. You will deliver infusion chemotherapy care, monitor patient status, and collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and support staff to optimize outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a graduate of an accredited nursing program, holds an active RN license, and maintains BLS and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN license.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide infusion chemotherapy nursing care per established protocols.
• Collaborate with the oncology team to plan and implement patient care.
• Monitor patient status and respond to adverse events.
• Educate patients and families on chemotherapy procedures and side effects.

• BSA Harrington Cancer Center is a state-of-the-art, 48,000-square-foot facility with two new linear accelerators for radiation treatments, 24 patient exam rooms, 28 heated chemotherapy infusion chairs and three private infusion rooms for families.

Responsibilities

The Oncology Registered Nurse is accountable for the health status and for health needs of patients based upon interpretation of health data and preventative health practices in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary healthcare team members.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High School (or GED equivalent) diploma.


• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.


• Current RN License.


• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.


• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Advanced Life Support Certification (ACLS).

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Previous acute care experience.
