Job summary

Inova Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg, VA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Imaging to join our team on a PRN basis. The role focuses on comprehensive patient assessments and coordinating imaging-related care within our hospital imaging department.

The position requires 1 year of RN experience in Critical Care, a BSN or ADN, and AHA BLS certification with Virginia licensure. Flexible scheduling and a commitment to high-quality patient outcomes are essential.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN required; if ADN, plan to complete BSN within 5 years and provide a written plan.
• 1 year of RN experience in Critical Care or completion of a CC fellowship.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Virginia RN licensure or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting datasets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized care plans based on assessments and population trends to meet best practice.
• Coordinates care with other disciplines and resources for patient/family transition planning.
• Delivers clinical decisions based on experience and data while mentoring peers and guiding less experienced staff.
• Assists with patient education, outcome measurement, and contributes to quality initiatives.
• Provides direction to team members as a clinical resource and delegates tasks as needed.
• Utilizes guidelines and care pathways, ensuring care delivery is coordinated with technology and collaboration.
• Maintains continuing education records and strives for ongoing professional development.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.

Inova Loudoun Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) Imaging to join the team. This role will be PRN (variable schedule based on departmental coverage needs); Schedule Requirements: Tuesdays & coverage as-needed around our general Office Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Registered Nurse (RN) Imaging Job Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships
• Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice
• Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning
• Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members
• Assists staff to assess patients' learning needs and outcomes measurement of patient education
• Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a clinical resource, preceptor, and mentor and delegates patient care activities and coordinates unit activities as needed
• Utilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery and ensures that the process for delivery of care is synthesized from direct patient/family communication, technology and other healthcare team member collaboration
• Demonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Team Member Continuing Education Record
• Evaluates clinical and quality outcomes and contributes to performance improvement initiatives
• May perform additional duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education:BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
• Experience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
• Certification:Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience: 3+ years of RN experience in Imaging, ICU, ED, Cardiac, PACU, or another critical care environment. Confidence in administering medications independently and reading/interpreting ECGs independently.
• Certification: ACLS from the American Heart Association upon start
• Other: Flexible and adaptable with scheduling; Comfortable working variable days based on departmental needs
