Job summary

Inova Emergency Care Center Fairfax City and Reston is seeking a Dedicated Diagnostic Imaging Technical Specialist (PRN) to join our team. The role requires expertise in imaging principles across modalities, strong patient communication, and adherence to radiation safety standards in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualified candidates have a radiography program graduate background, 3+ years imaging experience, BLS and ARRT registration with plans for further certification within a year.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school/program of radiography.
• Minimum of 3 years of Imaging experience in a hospital/healthcare environment.
• BLS certification within 3 months of hire; ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within one year of training.
• Must be able to perform in two or more modalities with rotating yearly across modalities.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates thorough understanding of imaging principles, anatomy, and pathology.
• Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history or consent.
• Demonstrates use of radiation protection procedures with collimation and shielding.

Inova Emergency Care Center Fairfax City and Reston is looking for a dedicated Diagnostic Imaging Technical Lead to join the team. This role will be PRN. Diagnostic Imaging Technical Specialist Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Imaging principles, theory, anatomy, and pathology processes while utilizing the most appropriate techniques and/or positioning for optimal examinations, as demonstrated by exam results.


• Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent from patients, or patients' charts, to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination, as evidenced by the exam results.


• Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding, as evidenced by incidence reports.


• Maintains an orderly, safe, and clean environment. Ensures rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies for procedures.

Additional Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited school/program of radiography.


• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of Imaging experience in an applicable modality (Cat Scan, Mammography, MRI, or Nuclear Medicine in a hospital/healthcare environment


• Certification: Basic Life Support Upon Start within 3 Months of hire; Upon start, ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within one year of training; Additional training in one or more modality will be completed within one year of hire into position. Must be able to perform in two or more modalities with at least even amount of time spent rotating in each annually based on the needs of the OU.


• License: Upon start, must be licensed as required by the state of employment if employed at an Inova Health System free standing Imaging Center not affiliated with one of the Inova hospitals.
