Texas Health Resources in Dallas is seeking an RN II for the Progressive Care Unit to deliver patient-centered care on the night shift (7:00 pm–7:00 am) with rotating weekends. The role emphasizes the nursing process, assessment, planning, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include a Nursing Diploma, an associate degree in nursing, and 1 year of RN experience or completion of an RN residency.

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma required.
• Associate degree from accredited nursing program required.
• BSN preferred.
• One-year RN experience or completion of RN residency program.
• One-year telemetry experience preferred in Acute Care.
• Must practice within Texas Nurse Practice Act; act as a patient care coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients using the nursing process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans patient care.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age-specific safety and infection control measures.
• Maintains continuity of patient care across shifts and during transfers.
• Manages cardiac-focused care and various cardiac drips.

Work hours: Full Time 36 Hours, Nights; 7:00 pm - 7:00 am; Rotating Weekends

Here's What You Need

• Nursing Diploma required

• Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required

• BSN preferred

• One-year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required

• One-year strong Medical Telemetry experience in an Acute Care setting strongly preferred

• RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care

• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 90 days of hire

What You Will Do

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

• Assesses the patient

• Plans the care of the patient

• Intervenes as appropriate

• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care

• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers

• Cardiac Focused Care

• Management of various cardiac drips
