Job summary

White Oak Medical Center, part of Adventist HealthCare, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Heart and Vascular unit. You will educate patients and families, mentor junior staff, and lead care planning with a focus on evidence-based practice and ANA standards.

A strong clinical background and Maryland RN licensure are required. Expect 36 hours weekly on a 3-shift schedule with weekend coverage; salary range reflects the Maryland market.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.
• Preferred: One year of acute clinical experience and Dysrhythmia proficient.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care while also striving to advance their own knowledge and skills through guidance from senior nurses.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism, adhere to ANA standards of practice, and exemplify Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment and technology correctly, delegate non-nursing duties appropriately, and maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify impending changes in patient condition and initiate corrective action.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Perform literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in change of practice.
