Job summary

Spring View Hospital in Lebanon, KY is seeking a part-time ICU RN to join our dedicated team. The role requires a valid RN license, ACLS and PALS within 12 months, and BLS within 30 days of hire.

The ICU is a 7-bed unit; you will provide critical care and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient assessment, care planning, and patient-family education.

Qualifications

• RN license is required.
• ACLS and PALS are required within 12 months of hire.
• One year of ICU or relevant experience preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates professional development and clinical competency; uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Performs plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Documents patient care accurately and communicates changes to the care team.
• Monitors patient conditions and provides updates to physicians, patients, and families.
• Assists with activities of daily living and coordinates care across disciplines.
• Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios.

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Spring View Hospital embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients. This is a 7-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support.

How you'll contribute

The RN demonstrates professional development and clinical competency; utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Floats to other departments as needed to maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios.
• Able to manage ventilators, cpap/bipap, vapotherms.
• Able to titrate and maintain critical drips on the ICU patient, including knowledge of indications, contraindications, and side effects.
• Must pass a rhythm recognition test within 90 days of hire/transfer.

What we're looking for

• RN license required
• ACLS and PALS is required within 12 months of hire.
• One year of experience preferred
• Handle with Care to be received within 30 days of orientation and kept annually

Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire.
