Job summary

Responsibilities

• Delegate and coordinate nursing care throughout the hospital
• Perform plan-of-care interventions including meds, specimens, and treatments
• Document patient care and monitor patient condition
• Communicate patient status to care team, physicians, patients, and families
• Assist with activities of daily living and comfort measures
• Collaborate across disciplines for transfers, discharges, and referrals
• Provide patient/family education appropriate to age and culture
• Advocate for patient well being and safety
• Supervise staffing assignments and provide orientation and mentoring
• Assist with evaluations and disciplinary actions as needed
• Ensure service quality and staff development programs
• Ensure policy and protocol compliance
• Handle complex issues and resolve complaints

What you'll contribute

• Delegates and coordinate nursing care throughout the hospital and ensures that quality nursing care is delivered.
• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
• Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
• Performs or assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
• Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.
• Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
• Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

What we're looking for

• RN license required
