Job summary

Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on a full-time day shift (7:00am–7:30pm) with rotating weekends. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates, with terms discussed in interviews.

You will provide direct ICU patient care, perform the nursing process, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality outcomes. Current RN license, BLS, and ICU experience are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the ICU scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to physicians (hemodynamic monitoring, test results, symptoms).
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or treatment response.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice. The Registered Nurse also directs and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care in the ICU. The Registered Nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care given to his/her assigned patients. They communicate with the physician about changes in the patient's clinical condition including hemodynamic monitoring, results of diagnostic studies and abnormal results and symptomatology. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and/or response to treatment. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

• Minimum of 1 year of ICU preferred.
