Job summary

MultiCare Health System in Spokane is seeking a float pool staff RN to join our hospital-based team across acute care departments. This role supports various units with flexible assignment, utilizing your specialized training and nursing expertise.

The position features 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm–7:30am) with weekends rotating; candidates must have open availability. You will collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care and participate in ongoing professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • WA RN license required.
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
  • CPR and ALS policy compliance required.

Responsibilities

  • Organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering and evaluating on an ongoing basis.
  • Deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to improve quality of care, patient experience and cost reduction.
  • Foster a learning environment for patients, families and nursing staff.
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care respecting diverse backgrounds.

FTE: 0.9 Full-Time, Shift: Nights, Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7:00pm - 7:30am), rotating weekends. Candidates must have open availability, as specific schedules or patterns cannot be guaranteed.

Department-Specific Requirement
  • Must have prior RN experience in ICU or PCU/Step‑Down nursing. This role requires flexibility to float within the hospital as needed.

Position Summary

Responsibilities

  • You will organize patient care by prioritizing, delegating, delivering and evaluating on an ongoing basis
  • You will utilize the knowledge base of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures and protocols
  • Collaborate with the nursing team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience and cost reduction
  • Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff and members of the health care team
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing
  • Advanced degree in Nursing (MSN, PhD, DNP, ARNP) preferred
  • Washington State Registered Nurse license (RN)
  • Refer to CPR and ALS policy grid for requirements
  • Minimum (2) years of experience
  • Current Washington State Drivers License; and proof of a safe driving record (which meets established MHS Standards) obtained by a motor vehicle report from the appropriate state

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $43.85 - $80.58 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
