Nurses provide patient-centered care at Bristol Hospital and are the coordinators of care and provide continuity of care across the continuum. Nurses consider patient’s unique need and individualize care accordingly and establish goals towards desired outcomes. Nurses practice autonomously and consistent with professional standards; they assess and provide appropriate patient care based on competence, expertise and knowledge.
Nurses perceive quality as the foundation of patient care delivery. Nurses participate in operations which promote, support and monitor and improve patient safety and outcomes. Nurses integrate evidence based practice and research into daily operations and provision of care.
Current State of Connecticut licensure as a Registered Nurse. Certification from a professional nursing body preferred.
General orientation at time of hire. Fire/Safety/Infection Control annually. Health Care Provider BLS from American Heart Association or American Red Cross. Successfully complete all training programs as determined by Education & HRD department. Other unit based competencies/skills as required.
Successfully complete unit based competency package, plus unit specific items. Strong team skills.
Regular exposure to patient elements, occasional stress.
