Capitol Home Health, serving Central Texas, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for PRN home care assignments in the Austin metro and surrounding counties. The RN plans, organizes and directs patient home care services, with emphasis on community health education and implementing care plans in patients' homes.

The ideal candidate holds an active RN license, a Bachelor's in Nursing (preferred), 1–2 years acute care and 1 year home health experience, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current, unencumbered license in the applicable state.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program, preferred.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience in an institutional setting.
• 1 year of home health care experience, preferred.
• Supervisory experience of LVNs and Nurse Aides/Assistants, preferred.
• CPR certification with in-person skills evaluation.
• Working knowledge of OASIS documentation, preferred.
• Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving, and basic math.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

The Registered Nurse is experienced in nursing, with emphasis on community health education/experience. The RN is responsible for planning, organizing and directing home care services. The professional RN builds from the resources of the community to plan and direct services to meet the needs of individuals and families within their homes and communities.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Registered Nurse (RN) with current and unencumbered license to practice professional nursing in the state of employment.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program, preferred.
• One (1) to two (2) years of recent acute care experience in an institutional setting.
• One (1) year of home health care experience, preferred.
• Management experience not required, but direct supervisory experience of Licensed Vocational Nurses and Nurse Aides/Assistants, preferred.
• Possess and maintain valid CPR certification. Must have obtained in-person with a practical skills evaluation as part of the final test.
• Working knowledge of OASIS documentation requirements, preferred.
• Excellent observation, verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, basic math skills; nursing skills per competency checklist.
• Access to reliable transportation.
