Overview

Provide skilled nursing services in the home environment as directed by the plan of care developed by the Registered Nurse and Physician, with the plan approved by the physician.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited R.N. school of nursing.
• Licensure: Current RN licensure in Rhode Island; in Massachusetts within 30 days of hire. BLS certification required. Active Driver’s License.
• Experience: One to two years of Medical Surgical nursing in an acute care setting preferred; community health experience in a certified home health agency is a plus.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and assist patients weighing 200-250 lbs., using proper body mechanics.
• Knowledge of safety precautions required.
• Involves intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and driving.
• Work involves frequent interruptions and multiple communications.
• Must demonstrate tactful, diplomatic behavior.
• Adherence to all safety, infection control, and universal precautions policies.
• Ability to administer therapies and treatments, and complete paperwork skillfully.
• Must be willing to work hours including weekends, holidays, and on-call as established by the department.
