Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse Resident for the 5H Surgical department. This part-time, 12-hour weekly night shift offers the opportunity to deliver compassionate patient care.

You will use the nursing process, maintain patient rights and confidentiality, and coordinate care with other departments. Eligibility includes RN licensure in Missouri or compact, BSN/AD/Diploma, BLS certification, and the ability to handle physical demands.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (BSN, ADN, or Diploma).
• Missouri RN license (or compact) required and current.
• BLS certification or within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to lift and stand for long periods; physical requirements noted.

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and mercy service standards.

Position Details:

• Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse Resident
• Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO
• Department: 5H Surgical
• Status: Part-Time - 12 hours/week
• Shift: 12 Hour (Nights 1900-0730)

Qualifications:

• Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (BSN, Associate's Degree, or Diploma Program).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required.
• Other: Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
