Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• ADN/ASN or BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN License required prior to start date.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize evidence-based practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act.
• Develop a plan of care to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and educational needs of patients and families.
• Participate in the creation of individualized development plans with managers of both Medicine and ED.
• Engage in collaborative coaching sessions with managers at regular intervals.
• Work with experienced RNs from both Medicine and ED as mentors.
• Undergo transitional orientation to care for inpatients in the Emergency Department.
• Be evaluated for readiness to transition fully to the ED after completing each step of the bridge program.

About This Role

The Registered Nurse (RN, GN) Medicine-to-ED Bridge Program at Hartford HealthCare is designed for nurses interested in transitioning to the Emergency Department after gaining foundational skills in Medicine units.
