Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse Resident for the 5H Surgical unit. The role is full-time (36 hours/week) with a 12-hour night shift (1900-0730). Eligible candidates may receive sign-on incentives and bridging programs to advance to BSN/MSN.

Requires MO RN licensure and BLS compliance. Expect responsibilities across patient care, coordination with departments, and adherence to Mercy standards.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (BSN, ASN, or Diploma Program).
• Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure required.
• Basic Life Support certification or completion within 30 days of hire.
• Physical requirements: capable of lifting 50 pounds, standing/walking long shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintains professional accountability for patient care for assigned patients.

Qualifications

• Required Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (BSN, Associate's Degree, or Diploma Program).
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current Missouri RN license and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed. Must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe.
• Other: Physical requirements/demands:
  • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.
  • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
