Job summary

Springfield Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the General Medical/Surgical ENT Unit (2B). The role focuses on ENT patients post-surgery, airway management, and wide range of post-operative care in a Magnet hospital environment known for excellence.

The position is on-site, full-time day shift with a $20,000 sign-on bonus, and a comprehensive benefits plan including PTO, 401(k) match and health/dental/vision insurance. Illinois RN licensure and BLS/CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed as RN in State of Illinois.
• Current BLS/CPR certification per policy.
• Must be able to position and/or transfer an average adult patient and possess gross coordination sufficient to perform other patient care duties as required.
• Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing.
• Must be able to perform difficult manipulative skills such as IV insertion and IM injections.
• Environmental working conditions include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue, contagious diseases and/or radioactive or other potentially hazardous materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for ENT patients after facial and neck reconstructive surgery.
• Manage post-surgical care including airway management (tracheostomy, laryngectomy) when needed.
• Perform nursing treatments, administer medications and monitor vitals.
• Support central line care, drainage management and PCAs as required.
• Collaborate with magnet program to deliver high-quality patient care.

The Registered Nurse (RN), General Medical/Surgical ENT Unit (2B) focuses on ENT patients, providing care for patients after facial and neck reconstructive surgery, that often require new airways, such as laryngectomy and tracheostomy, as well as advanced hernia repair and trauma surgical patients. Patient population ranges from younger to older adults. Many opportunities for central lines, TPN, trach and laryngectomy care, drain care, PCAs, dressing changes, nursing treatments, meds and postsurgical care.

Pay Transparency $30.23 - $48.37. Additional compensation in the form(s) of participation in our annual incentive program are dependent on role. Pay is based on factors such as work experience, education, certification(s), training, skills, and competencies related to the role.
