Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Corpus Christi Bayfront is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our inpatient medical-surgical unit. Under the direction of nursing leadership, you will deliver, direct and supervise patient care using the nursing process, coordinate discharge planning, and educate patients and families for post-hospital care.

We value ACLS readiness (ACLS required within 90 days for most roles; ACLS from day 1 for Charge, High Obs, ICU), current BLS, and an active Texas RN

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in the state of application.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification preferred initially and required after 90 days; ACLS required from day 1 for Charge Nurses, High Obs, ICU.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to deliver, direct and supervise patient care.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning and post-hospital education.
• Assume related duties as assigned, including Charge Nurse responsibilities where ACLS is required.

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Experience:

One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.

A few things that aren't required, but we would prefer:

• Having prior experience in emergency or critical care environments
• A higher comfort level working with vents/trachs/PICC lines, etc.
• Having 2 years of experience in direct patient care
