Job summary

PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Houston Heights is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver and supervise patient care on the medical-surgical unit using the nursing process. You will coordinate interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, and patient/family teaching for post-hospitalization.

This full-time role requires an active TX RN license, current BLS, and ACLS within 90 days of employment. ACLS is also required for Charge Nurses.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in TX or compact state.
• Current BLS certification (required).
• ACLS certification required within 90 days of employment.
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, direct and supervise care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate inter-disciplinary planning and discharge planning.
• Provide patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization.
• Access community resources as needed; may serve as Charge Nurse (ACLS required).

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Education and Training: Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.

Experience: One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.
