Job summary

PAM Health Specialty Hospital of Corpus Christi North is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient-centered care on the medical-surgical unit under the direction of Nursing leadership. The RN will plan, coordinate, and deliver comprehensive care, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching for post-hospitalization, while collaborating with the care team.

Requires current RN licensure in the state, BLS certification, and ACLS within 90 days of employment; ACLS must be AHA

Qualifications

• Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment.
• Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.
• One year of inpatient medical-surgical nursing experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients.
• Plan, coordinate, and provide patient care including discharge planning and teaching.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary planning and access community resources.
• May perform Charge Nurse duties as assigned.

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required).

Education and Training

Holds a current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) in the state where the hospital resides, or compact licensure if state participates. Current BLS certification is required. Evidence of ACLS certification is required within 90 days of employment. BLS and ACLS certifications must be AHA approved within 90 days of employment. Current ACLS certification is required for Charge Nurses.
