Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Neurology RN (8 East) for day shift. You will provide direct patient care using the nursing process, perform assessments, coordinate care with physicians and teams, and document thoroughly while upholding Mercy’s mission and values.

New grads are encouraged to apply; active Missouri RN license or compact state license and BLS certification are required. This role offers a sign-on bonus for experienced and new graduate nurses.

Qualifications

Schedule:Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift:Day Shift | 7:00 AM - 7:00PM

Sign-On Bonus:

• Experienced Nurses:Up to$20,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience):Up to$10,000

About the Unit

Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety‑focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.

About the Role

The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  (or within 30 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience
• Specialty certifications

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
