Mercy Hospital South in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking an RN for Neurology 8 East. The role encompasses direct patient care, care coordination with the team, and thorough documentation, aligned with Mercy’s mission and standards.

New grads and experienced nurses are welcome. Position details: FT, 36 hours/week, day shift, with sign-on bonuses up to $20,000 for experienced nurses and up to $10,000 for new grads. MO license or compact state required.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in MO or compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA (or within 30 days of hire).

Responsabilidades

• Provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Document and evaluate care; uphold patient rights and confidentiality.
• Engage in care for neurology patients within Oncology/Neuro unit responsibilities.

Schedule:Full-Time | 36 hours/week

Shift:Day Shift | 7:00 AM - 7:00PM

Sign-On Bonus:

• Experienced Nurses:Up to$20,000
• New Graduate Nurses (less than 1 year of experience):Up to$10,000

About the Unit

Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety‑focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.

About the Role

The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
  (or within 30 days of hire)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience
• Specialty certifications

New graduate nurses are encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
