Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis seeks a Neurology RN for the 8 East unit. The role involves direct patient care, nursing-process-based assessments, and close collaboration with physicians and therapy teams.

New grads are welcome, with a day shift on a 36-hour week schedule. Eligible candidates include BSN/ADN or Diploma graduates with an active Missouri RN license and BLS certification. Sign-on bonuses up to $20,000 for experienced nurses and up to $10,000 for new grads are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN).
• Active Registered Nurse license in Missouri or a compact state.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire).

Responsibilities

About the Unit

Neurology 8 East cares for patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, brain tumors, and brain bleeds. Nurses gain valuable experience with complex neuro assessments, safety‑focused care, and close collaboration with neurology providers and therapy teams.

About the Role

The Neurology RN provides direct patient care using the nursing process while collaborating closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams. Responsibilities include ongoing patient assessments, care coordination, documentation, and delivering compassionate, patient‑centered care consistent with Mercy’s mission and values.

This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy clinical complexity, teamwork, and continuous skill development.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, Diploma, or BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or compact state

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Prior hospital or acute‑care nursing experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and assist up to 50 pounds
• Prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to bend, reach, kneel, squat, and assist patients safely
