Registered Nurse (RN), Night Shift, Long Term Acute Care (LTAC) Float

UC Health is hiring a full-time RN for LTAC Float Pool, for the night shift at Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care.

The RN will support Daniel Drake’s Float Pool, delivering high-quality care to patients based on assessed needs, established standards of care, and according to policy and procedures.

Daniel Drake Center for Post-Acute Care is the region's premier provider of post-acute and transitional care services, offering a complete range of inpatient and outpatient services including medically complex care, skilled nursing, assisted living, wellness services, and research. It helps patients recover from catastrophic injuries and illnesses such as multi-system organ failure, complex wound care, traumatic brain injury, stroke, and spinal cord injury.

As the only hospital-based skilled nursing facility in the Cincinnati region, patients have access to many hospital-based services including 24/7 on-site physician coverage, pharmacy, diagnostic imaging, wound care, and specialty physician consulting services. These on-site services enable quick responses to complex and evolving care needs.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Associate’s Degree, minimum required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, preferred
  • Current OH RN License

Hours: Full time, 36 hours/week

Shift: 12-hour PM / Night Shift

Responsibilities

The RN holds a current state license to practice nursing. The practice of nursing requires specialized knowledge, judgment, and skills to provide care to groups and individuals. The RN utilizes knowledge from biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Care is culturally based and age-specific.

  • Prepares, implements, evaluates, revises, and coordinates interdisciplinary care plans for each patient in collaboration with healthcare team members and patients/families, within the standards of practice.
  • Communicates care plans effectively to all involved staff and establishes care priorities based on patient assessments and needs.
  • Provides clear instructions to patients and families regarding treatments, involving them in care planning and execution.
  • Identifies and responds appropriately to behavioral health issues, psychological needs, or cultural norms impacting patient care.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and teamwork in meeting unit needs.
  • Documents nursing processes accurately and concisely, including treatment evaluations, in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Acts as a resource and mentor for new staff, floaters, and supplemental personnel on the unit.
  • Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and supports the growth of peers and colleagues.
