Job summary

MedStar Health in Maryland is seeking registered nurses for the Float Pool across Tower units. Open to RNs with at least 2 years of experience; multiple roles include Full Time Nights/Days, Part Time, PRN.

Responsibilities include adapting to varied medical-surgical and telemetry settings; base pay plus shift differentials, holidays and hard-to-fill shifts. Active MD RN license and BLS required; ACLS preferred.

Pay

• Base Pay based on working years of experience as a nurse
• Hourly float pool differential (X 12 hours)
• Shift Differentials
• Charge/Preceptor Pay

Full Time Requirements

• Three 12-hour shifts and every other weekend
• 3 designated holidays per year
• 2 hard-to-fill shifts per year (Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Easter Sunday, Halloween, Super Bowl Sunday, Black Friday, 4th of July Nights)

Part Time Requirements

• Two 12-hour shifts & every other weekend, 24 hours per week
• Holiday and hard-to-fill shifts per year

PRN Requirements

• Minimum of 6 shifts per 6 weeks
• If working a straight day or straight night shift, 3 (of the 6 shifts) weekend shifts required
• 1 holiday per year
• 1 hard-to-fill shift per year

Qualifications

• ADN, BSN, MSN, or CNL from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• 2 years of RN experience required; at least 2+ years of acute care RN experience, particularly in Med Surg Telemetry, strongly preferred.
• Active MD RN License or Active Compact State RN and Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers required (AHA or American Red Cross) by completion of introductory period. ACLS & NIHSS strongly preferred.
