OSF HealthCare is seeking a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) to serve as a first assistant for surgical procedures. You will care for the patient under the surgeon’s direction and collaborate with the surgical team to create effective care plans.
The role requires an Associate degree in nursing, two years OR experience, Illinois RN license, and CNOR or equivalent certification. Excellent interpersonal and computer skills are essential; the position is hourly and USD-based.

Pay range for this position is $45.34 - $63.23/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is an Hourly position.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) is a first assistant for surgical procedures. They are responsible for the care of the patient under the direction of the surgeon. They collaborate with the surgeon and surgical team to create effective patient care plans for our surgical patients. While in the role of RNFA, the RNFA does not function concurrently as the scrub nurse. The RNFA provides leadership by working cooperatively with all of the medical center staff and works to maintain standards of professional nursing practice. This position reports to the OR clinical manager. The RN First Assistant (RNFA) practices in accordance with applicable regulatory standards, organizational policy, and performs all duties within the scope of RN licensure and education.
