Job summary

UT Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Tyler, TX is seeking a day shift, full-time Exercise Specialist Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Team. The Clinical Exercise Specialist (CES) will provide inpatient and outpatient care to patients with cardiovascular and/or pulmonary disease, conducting assessments, planning, treatment, and diagnostic testing.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved RN program/licensure in Texas.
• Current Texas RN license.
• BLS certification required within 14 days of hire or transfer.
• ACLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient care to patients with cardiovascular and/or pulmonary disease.
• Assess, plan, treat, and perform diagnostic testing for cardiovascular/respiratory dysfunctions.
• Educate patients and implement wellness and rehabilitation programs.
• Support quality improvement initiatives within the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Team.

• UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center includes a 49-bed inpatient hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11 cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic fitness centers, with access to some of the most advanced therapy techniques and care available.

Responsibilities

• The Clinical Exercise Specialist, RN is a valuable member of the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Team.
• The CES provides inpatient and outpatient care to patients with Cardiovascular and /or pulmonary disease.
• The CES will assess, plan, treat, and perform diagnostic testing on patients with cardiovascular/respiratory dysfunctions.
• Patients' development and implementation are the primary function of the CES consisting of patient education, rehabilitation, wellness program, health enhancement and Quality improvement.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• Graduate of an approved RN school
• Current professional licensure in the State of Texas for RN
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care
• ACLS certifications

Preferred Job Requirements:

• ACSM certification
