Our UT Health Clinic in Gun Barrel City is seeking an experienced
Exercise Specialist, Cardiac Rehab, RN. We are looking for your experience, knowledge, and patient care skills in our Cardiopulmonary Rehab where you will be responsible for:
What You Will Be Doing:- Providing inpatient and outpatient care to patients with cardiovascular and/or pulmonary disease. Patient education, wellness, and program development and implementation are primary functions of the CES.
- Assess and evaluate phase I, II, and III cardiac and pulmonary patients’ functional status and implement appropriate exercise prescription based on findings.
- Provide patient education for inpatients and outpatients and document patient progression and response to exercise. Gather data for outcome studies.
- Participate in development and implementation of new programs, services, and testing.
- Perform specialized testing such as Pulmonary Function Testing, Basal Metabolism Test, and Non-invasive stress testing.
- Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive interdisciplinary care.
- Maintain skills and knowledge through training and continuing education to meet standards of care.
Job Requirements Details:
Position Requirements: Education:
- Associates degree in Nursing (A.D.N.) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) as well as Respiratory Therapy, Exercise Physiologist considered.
Experience:
- Customer friendly
- Must be in good health and able to physically complete a fitness assessment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Active listening, hearing, and visual skills
- Must use written and/or verbal sources of information
- Good problem-solving skills
- Basic personal computer skills and comfort with Microsoft Windows operating system; database and word processing skills required
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to think strategically and act tactically

- Ability to embrace the client relationship to guide decisions and actions
- Demonstrates good teamwork
Certification and Licensure:
- CPR and AED certification.
- Professional fitness certification from an approved organization within first 6 months of employment.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Must be in good health and able to physically complete a fitness assessment.
