RWJBarnabas Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. The role supports the Emergency Department in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment and requires an active NJ RN license and BLS.

The position emphasizes teamwork, clinical excellence, and continuous learning, with evening shifts and a focus on safety and patient outcomes. As an RN, you will perform assessments, administer treatments, document in EPIC, educate families, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred.
• Prior Emergency Department nursing experience.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize subtle clinical changes, intervening early and advocating for patients.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers to support timely, well-coordinated care decisions.
• Deliver clear, compassionate education to patients and families.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to promote continuity and patient safety.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary rounds to improve communication and transitions of care.
• Participate in a team-driven environment with shared accountability for outcomes.

To be considered for this RN opportunity, you must hold an active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is strongly preferred, as is prior patient care experience ideally emergency room nursingand comfort with electronic medical record systems (EMR) like EPIC. In this role, you will work, 24 hours per week,11a-11:30pand every other weekend and rotating holidays.
