Job summary

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a Registered Nurse for PRN scheduling in the Endoscopy unit. The nurse will handle patient care, including medication administration and coordination of care across disciplines. A current VA RN license is required, and while a Bachelor's degree is preferred, it's not mandatory.

Registered Nurse Endo - PRN Schedule

Schedule: 6:30-7:00 AM start time with rotating call. Call Requirement: Must be able to arrive within 30 minutes.

Must be able to meet a 30 minute Call Time.

Our Endoscopy unit provides care for a wide range of procedures, including:

• Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)
• Colonoscopy
• Sigmoidoscopy
• Bronchoscopy
• GI bleed procedures

The unit typically operates 1-2 procedure rooms several days per week out of the Operating Rooms, maintaining a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure high-quality, focused patient care.

How you will contribute

• Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
• Documents patient care given.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
• Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

What we are looking for

• Applicants should have a current VA RN license.
• Bachelors degree preferred but not required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
• Experience in acute care hospital, preferred.
• American Heart Association ACLS within 6 months of hire.
