Job summary

Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, IL seeks a registered nurse for the GI Lab. You will provide and coordinate patient care through the nursing process, perform endoscopy-related procedures, and support physicians in ambulatory and operating room GI cases.

Candidate must have an accredited nursing program, RN license, BLS, and GI/endoscopy experience, with strong communication and clinical judgment for a fast-paced environment.

GI Lab is open M-F 7:00 - 6:00pm Saturday 7:00am - 3:30pm, plus on call

Pay Range

$38.20 - $57.30

Job Description
Where You Will Work

In the GI lab we have approximately 60-70 cases per day. Admit 7 beds/Recovery 10 beds/Procedure rooms 7. Very fast paced. We assist in ambulatory with pediatric cases, and we assist in the main operating room with many GI lab cases. We do Colonoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Esophagogastroduodenoscopy, as well as many therapeutic procedures. Diverse population of team members with many skill levels coming together to create the best patient experience with the best patient outcomes.

We’re Looking For
  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Teamwork, having an emphasis on patients receiving high quality care. Communication, hard-working, multi-tasking, engagement. Collaboration
  • Endoscopy/GI experience is required
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking.
  • Time management, prioritization and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in operating computer functions (e.g., E-mail, electronic records, digital platforms etc.) clinical, aviation, maintenance, communications, and administrative departments.

  • As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
