Job summary

Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista, Arizona, invites you to join our Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse (RN). This 22‑bed unit within a Level III Trauma Center offers a collaborative, patient‑focused environment with opportunities for professional growth and excellence in emergency care.

We require an Arizona RN license, an Associate's Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred), and certifications (BLS/ACLS/PALS/HAZMAT/Handle with Care and TNCC per timeline).

Qualifications

• Active Arizona or Compact RN license.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, HAZMAT and Handle with Care certifications due within 90 days.
• TNCC required within one year of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well‑being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.

How You’ll Contribute

As an RN in the Emergency Department (ED) at Canyon Vista Medical Center, a 22-bed unit, you will operate within a Trauma III hospital setting, ensuring patients receive optimal medical attention and support.

What we’re looking for

Applicants should have a current Arizona or compact state RN license and possess an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:
