Job summary

Highpoint Health Sumner is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our 24-bed Level 3 Trauma Emergency Room, ranked #2 in Lifepoint Health. You will deliver high-quality care to patients with traumatic injuries and medical emergencies in a fast-paced ER.

As an RN in our ER, you will assess patients, coordinate with physicians and the care team, document accurately in our EMR, and educate families while adhering to hospital policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Current state RN licensure or multi-state licensure.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (RN).
• BLS certification; ACLS & PALS required within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and critical conditions in the ER.
• Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, APRNs, and multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
• Administer trauma care, medications, and emergency resuscitation.
• Document all patient interactions and outcomes in the EMR.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines.

Job Summary: Registered Nurse (RN) - Level 3 Trauma Emergency Room

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team in our 24 bed, Level 3 Trauma Emergency Room, ranked #2 in Lifepoint Health. As an RN in our ER, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality care to patients experiencing a wide range of traumatic injuries and medical emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and critical conditions, including trauma, cardiac events, respiratory distress, and other medical emergencies.

• Assessment and Triage: Quickly and accurately assess patient conditions, prioritize care based on severity, and initiate appropriate interventions.

• Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.

• Trauma Management: Administer life‑saving treatments and interventions for trauma patients, including wound care, medication administration, and emergency resuscitation.

• Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure seamless care delivery and positive patient outcomes.

• Documentation: Accurately document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.

• Education and Support: Provide patient and family education on medical conditions, treatment plans, and post‑discharge care.

• Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines to ensure a safe and compliant environment for all patients and staff.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Applicants should have a current State of Tennessee or Multi‑State Registered Nurse licensureand possess an associate or bachelor's degree or RN Diploma in Nursing.

Required Certifications

• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required to be current upon hire

• ACLS & PALS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 6 months of employment, if not current upon hire.

• TNCC - Preferred

• 1 year of Emergency Services nursing, AEMT, Paramedic or Military experience - preferred
