Job summary

Canyon Vista Medical Center in Sierra Vista, AZ is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced 22-bed unit within a Level III Trauma Center.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Active Arizona RN license or Compact state RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, HAZMAT and Handle with Care certifications within 90 days of hire.
• TNCC within one year of hire.
• One year of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan of care interventions including medication administration and clinical treatments.
• Document patient care provided.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team and family.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Coordinate transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.

How You'll Contribute

As an RN in the Emergency Department (ED) at Canyon Vista Medical Center, a 22-bed unit , you will operate within a trauma III hospital setting, ensuring patients receive optimal medical attention and support.

Essential Functions

• Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
• Documents patient care provided.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
• Evaluates patient and family learning needs and provides appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
• Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Patient Populations Served: Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult.

What We're Looking For

Applicants should have a current Arizona or compact state RN license and possess an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements include:

• Associate's Degree in Nursing required, Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferred.
• Must have an active Arizona or Compact RN License.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, HAZMAT and Handle with Care certifications are required within 90 days of hire.
