Qualifications

Job description

**Registered Nurse (RN) Day Shift– Emergency Department (ED) Unit for Texas Health Denton**

**Work location: Texas Health Denton, 3000 N I-35, Denton, TX 76201**

**Work hours:** Full-time Day Shift, 36 hours weekly, 3-12 hours shifts, 7:00 am – 7:00 pm

**Here’s What You Need**

+ Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma required; BSN preferred

+ CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency (required)

+ RN - Registered Nurse Upon Hire required

+ BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required

+ ACLS – within 90 days of hire

+ CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 days of hire

+ 1-year of Experience as a Registered Nurse or completion of an RN residency program required.

+ 2-3 year ER experience preferred.

+ ENPC – Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course – 12 months required

+ TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course – 12 months required

+ PALS - within 90 days of hire

**What You Will Do**

Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

+ Assesses the patient

+ Plans the care of the patient

+ Intervenes as appropriate

+ Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions

+ Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.

+ Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information

+ Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
