Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an ER Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive, patient- and family-centered care in a fast-paced Emergency Department. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care while collaborating with physicians and a multidisciplinary team.

Requires SC or compact-state RN licensure and BLS; TNCC certification is preferred. 36-hour weeks, hourly pay, and an emphasis on safe, dignified patient care. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current South Carolina or compact-state Registered Nurse license.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient- and family-centered nursing care using the nursing process.
• Assess patients, identify clinical priorities, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate outcomes.
• Deliver age- and developmentally appropriate care while addressing each patient’s physical, emotional, cultural, spiritual, and environmental needs.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate safe, effective patient care.
• Lead and support other assigned team members while promoting teamwork and a healthy work environment.
• Recognize changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions to improve outcomes.
• Provide patient and family education, health promotion, and emotional support.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic, healing environment while protecting patient privacy and dignity.
• Practice with accountability, autonomy, professional judgment, and strong critical-thinking skills.
• Participate in shared governance, peer review, professional development, and initiatives that promote clinical excellence.
• Apply care management principles to support the efficient delivery of high-quality patient care.
