Job summary

AdventHealth South Overland Park is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This full-time night shift role requires assessing patients, developing care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with the care team.

You will educate patients and families, document care activities, and uphold infection control and safety standards in a fast-paced ED environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current license (RN) and BLS certification.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients across multiple factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans and adjust as needed.
• Administer medications safely and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about conditions and self-care.
• Collaborate with medical staff to coordinate care.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors of patients.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and standards of care, regularly evaluating and revising these plans as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely, following physician orders and hospital protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies to promote understanding and compliance.
• Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record. * Evaluate the effectiveness of care plans and interventions continuously, making necessary adjustments to improve patient health and achieve positive outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe healthcare environment.
