PIEETS Advantage Services is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department in New York. The RN will coordinate and manage care using the nursing process in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting, supervising clinical staff and ensuring adherence to standards.

The role requires an NY RN license, a BSN, and 2–3 years in a Level I/II trauma center, with strong ventilator and airway management, critical thinking, and effective communication.

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN is accountable for coordinating and managing care for assigned patients in accordance with established hospital, nursing, and multidisciplinary standards. This role includes supervising clinical support staff and ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess immediate and ongoing patient and family care needs
• Develop and implement comprehensive, individualized care plans, including discharge planning and patient education
• Deliver direct patient care aligned with physician orders and clinical protocols
• Monitor, evaluate, and document patient responses to treatment and interventions
• Communicate patient status updates to the interdisciplinary care team
• Reassess patients regularly and respond to changes in condition promptly
• Coordinate care to ensure consistency with medical treatment plans
• Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs, RNs on permit, nursing assistants, and other support staff
• Establish care priorities in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Ensure care delivery aligns with age‑specific needs (pediatric, adult, geriatric)
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to care standards
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with onboarding and orientation of new nursing staff
• Assume charge nurse duties as assigned
• Support unit operations by assisting team members and floating as needed
• Serve as a clinical resource for student nurses
• Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and continuing education
• Engage in research initiatives and pilot programs
• Maintain ongoing professional development and pursue advanced certifications

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in New York
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• 2–3 years of experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center
• Strong clinical skills in ventilator care, tracheostomy, gastrostomy tubes, and medication titration
• Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
• Ability to manage high‑stress situations effectively

Required Certifications

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• AHA Stroke Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Board Certification in Emergency Nursing or related specialty

Schedule

• Full-time, 3x12 shifts
• Every other weekend and holiday rotations required
