Qualifications: The following statements outline the general duties, responsibilities, and competencies necessary for this role. Specific duties may vary and be adjusted by the department manager as needed.
Education and Experience: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school, licensed as an RN in Maryland, and have completed required hospital, nursing, and unit orientations, including BLS and medication certifications. Demonstrates proficiency at Clinical Nurse I level and meets eligibility for Clinical Nurse II. ACLS required (PACU, ICCU, ED), NALS required (Obstetrical-Nursery) or eligible within six months. Specialty certifications are preferred. Telemetry nurses must pass a basic arrhythmia exam and recognize critical rhythms for intervention.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Valid RN license in Maryland, BLS certification, ACLS (required for certain units), NRP (for obstetrics) or eligible within six months. Specialty certifications are preferred.
